CAD / DWG DRAFTING
Custom technical drafting from your validated design information
Soft Études provides CAD and DWG drafting services. You supply the sizing, dimensions, flow rates, outputs, technical details and validated design decisions; Soft Études prepares the drawing, schematic or DWG file.
Drafting services
The service covers graphical production and document cleanup, not engineering design or technical approval.
- HVAC, heating and plumbing schematics
- Sections, installation details and builders-work drawings
- Ventilation, gas and plant-room drawings
- DWG layers, blocks, title blocks and file cleanup
Information to provide
A clear source package makes the quotation and drafting work more reliable.
- Existing PDF, DWG or marked-up sketch
- Dimensions, levels, diameters and materials
- Flow rates, duties and equipment references
- Required output format and drawing standard
Scope
Soft Études does not select system solutions, calculate equipment duties, approve regulatory compliance or provide a design-office visa. Technical responsibility remains with the client or appointed designer.
- DWG and DXF files
- PDF issue drawings
- Reusable blocks and details
- Preferential quotation rates for Pro subscribers
Typical workflow
The request is first reviewed to confirm that the source information is sufficient for drafting. The quotation then defines the drawings, expected level of detail, file format and number of revisions. Missing technical decisions are returned to the client rather than invented during drafting.
- Review the supplied files and instructions
- Confirm drawing list and presentation standard
- Prepare the first CAD issue
- Apply agreed graphical corrections and deliver the files
Preparing reliable deliverables
Layer names, line weights, colours, title blocks and plotting requirements should be stated before work begins when a company standard must be followed. Existing blocks can be reused when they are supplied with suitable rights and are technically appropriate for the requested drawing.
Final files should be checked by the client against the validated design information before issue. Any later change to equipment, routing, dimensions or technical requirements may require a drawing revision. The agreed quotation defines which revisions are included and which source files form the basis of the work.
- State the required AutoCAD or DXF version
- Identify the project coordinate and unit system
- Provide the title block and revision rules
- List any files that must remain externally referenced
